ABOUT US

PROTECTIVE CARE FOR YOUNG PEOPLE

Our people don’t just provide care, they are specialist individuals who transform the lives of so many young people. It’s certainly challenging, but when we see the results it’s hugely rewarding.

Reason for founding

Protective Care Group (PCG) was founded from lived experience and a genuine passion to give robust, consistent and therapeutic care to young people across the UK who are extremely complex and display challenging behaviours. These behaviours are vast, but often include aggression, self-harm, suicide risk, absconding, CCE risk and criminal activities.

Our experience of delivering high quality support comes from ‘real life experience’ as our one of our directors has an adopted son with a very wide range of complex MH/behavioural issues.

We want to reach more young people like this.

Our specialist carers are throughout the UK

Our Support Workers come from many different backgrounds but the one thing they all have in common is their resilience, commitment and passion to make a difference to the lives of the young people they are working with.

We work with a large number of local authorities across the UK, and are the preferred supplier for extreme and complex young people for a number of these. We are the Care and Support Company that is often called in when a young person needs to leave secure accommodation/MH Hospital or others providers have tried and failed due to the extreme behaviours their staff faced.

Complete training

We offer full training to all of our support workers . A list of training that our staff undertake can be found here. The important elements include Bespoke PRICE PBS training, and utilising PACE, Trauma Informed techniques and often humour in trying to de-escalate situations.

Every new support worker has to go through a rigid, and thorough recruitment process, which follows Safer Recruitment Standards. Parts of our training are scenario based, where we use physical, mental and listening tasks where we gauge genuine suitability to work for us.
